A Day at Wild Wonders

A day at Wild Wonders isn't packed with transitions or a rigid schedule.

It's spacious. Intentional. Rooted in rhythm, not routine.

Here's what a day might look like...

 Arrival

Kids drift in, one by one, greeted by trees and open-ended play. Some head straight to the mud kitchen. Others find their way to building, climbing, digging, or checking in on the worm farm.

Morning Play

There’s no rush. We follow the energy of the group. Sometimes there’s a group project— potion-making, play-doh pasta, or painting at the easel. Other times, kids scatter into their own little worlds of invention and collaboration.

Snack Time

When bodies begin to slow, we pause for a snack. We gather, eat, chat, reconnect, and read. Then it’s back to play—deeper now, more focused, more expansive.

More Play

This might be the time for a bug hunt, a new construction at the water table, or an impromptu performance under the trees. Or maybe it’s quiet play, two friends sitting side by side, digging in the sandbox or watching the birds.

Lunch

Lunch is shared outdoors whenever we can. It’s peaceful and grounding. No big rush to get to the next thing. We often share stories from home or read stories from books.

Rest

After lunch, we slow down. Some children rest. Others lay quietly with books or puzzles. It’s a gentle pause that resets the day.

Afternoon Play

Yes—more play. More discovery. More time to follow what feels alive and interesting in that moment. The light shifts. The energy softens. And we end the day just as we began: connected and curious.

We don’t measure our day by how many activities we’ve completed. We measure it in laughter, invention, wonder, and the dirt under our fingernails.

This is how childhood should feel.
